Good Golly Tamale debuted at the Market Square Farmers’ Market in September 2013. We began selling individually wrapped tamales from a hot box on the back of an ochre colored tricycle. In October 2015 we opened a storefront on Central Ave in the Old City.
Our mission is to serve traditional comfort food that is not only fast and delicious, but also nutritious! We use organic non-GMO corn masa, locally sourced free range meats, and locally farmed produce when available.
We also believe in using high quality fat and plenty of it! Our tamales are made with Specrum brand organic palm shortening. The meaty ones have a little Benton’s bacon fat and we sometimes make our own leaf lard when local sources allow.
